Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of dataint.net (the "Site"), operated by Emre Sets Turan (trading as "Episteme"), established in Türkiye (the "Operator", "we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. What the Site is
DataInt is a global data warehouse and data-as-a-service project. dataint.net is its umbrella site: it presents general information about the project's datasets and links to the project's reference sites, Databook (databook.dataint.net) and Logibook (logibook.dataint.net). The Site is informational — it does not, at present, provide an interactive data service, and it shows no advertising. The underlying data is published by third-party sources (governments, international organizations, and other institutional publishers) and is accessed through the project's reference sites and the original sources.
We describe sources, not reality. Where the Site references figures or datasets, it reflects what the cited source publishes, with attribution; it does not assert that any figure is the single correct truth, and exercises no editorial judgment over which source is "right". Always verify any data against the original source before relying on it.
2. No professional advice; no reliance
The content is provided for general information only. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, investment, navigational, or other professional advice, and must not be relied on for any decision with legal or financial consequences. You are solely responsible for how you use the content.
3. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (to the extent permitted by law) warranties of accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Data is sourced from third parties and may be outdated, incomplete, contested, or contain errors originating in the source. We do not warrant that the Site is error-free or continuously available.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from (a) your use of or inability to use the Site, (b) reliance on any content, (c) errors or omissions in third-party source data, or (d) linked third-party sites. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Turkish law or any other consumer-protection law that mandatorily applies to you.
5. Intellectual property
- Third-party data remains subject to the rights and licenses of its original publishers. The Site presents general information and source attributions; the underlying licenses and required attributions are those of the original publishers.
- The Site itself — its selection, arrangement, structure, design, code, and original text — is protected as a compilation/work and is owned by the Operator or its licensors. You may view and share links to pages and make personal, non-commercial use of the content with attribution. Systematic scraping, bulk extraction, framing, or republishing of the Site's compilation is not permitted without our written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Site unlawfully or to infringe others' rights; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Site or its security; (c) misrepresent the Site's information as authoritative truth; or (d) scrape or harvest content at scale without permission.
7. Third-party links
The Site links to the project's reference sites, to original data sources, and to other third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites; your use of them is governed by their own terms.
8. Corrections, intellectual-property and privacy concerns
If you believe information on the Site is inaccurate, infringes your rights, or raises a privacy concern, please email legal@episteme.fyi (or privacy@episteme.fyi for personal-data matters) with the specific page URL and details. Because we reflect third-party sources, corrections to underlying facts are generally best directed to the original publisher, but we will address issues attributable to the Site, without prejudice to applicable Turkish content-liability rules (including Law No. 5651).
9. Changes to the Site and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time, and may update these Terms. For material changes we will post a prominent notice on the Site; continued use of the Site after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where local law requires affirmative acceptance for specific changes, we will obtain it.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Balıkesir, Türkiye shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
11. Language
The English version of these Terms is the authoritative version. Translations, where provided, are for convenience; in case of any conflict or discrepancy, the English version prevails, except where mandatory local law requires the local-language version to govern for consumers in that jurisdiction.
